Governance Support Officer – OPCC (Kelvedon Park)

Kelvedon Fire Headquarters

Monday to Friday, covering core hours between 0800-1700hrs

 £24,813 – £26,535 per annum

Permanent – Full Time

Job Summary

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join the Essex Office of the Police Crime Commissioner (OPCC) to help keep our communities safe, hold Essex Police to account and ensure that the people of Essex receive an excellent service from the OPCC.

The post-holder will provide highly efficient, professional and comprehensive administration to the Boards, Committees and meetings of the Essex Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s as well as being responsible

for the effective co-ordination and facilitation of the Police Appeal Tribunals. The full list of duties is included in the job description.

The post holder will have significant experience in the field of business administration and governance as well as strong computer literacy, good communication skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.

In addition, the post holder will have the ability to fulfil the requirements of this role with integrity, accountability and commitment, operating in a calm and professional manner at all times when dealing with colleagues, Police, members of the public and officers of partner organisations.

Role; Community Safety and Partnerships Officer

Based; OPCC, Kelvedon Park, London Road, Essex, CM8 3HB

Grade; PO3 starts at £37,563

Term; 12-month fixed term contract or secondment opportunity

The Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex is seeking an exceptional candidate with a good understanding of community safety and criminal justice.  The candidate will have good project management, policy and analytical skills in order to manage delivery of action plans and provide reports and briefing to partners.

The post holder will report to the Assistant Director for Commissioning and will be responsible for delivering the PCC’s programme of work in relation to community safety, partnerships and reoffending, including supporting partnership forums such as Safer Essex, and the Essex reducing reoffending board.

The OPCC seeks a team player who is determined, outcome driven, self-motivated, and able to deliver effectively in a partnership environment. 

The successful candidate may come from a range of different professional backgrounds, including community safety, criminal justice, and project or partnership management.
