The following public consultation asks you to consider three options and to give your views.
The Policing and Crime Act 2017 allows Police and Crime Commissioners to develop a local case for change in the way police and fire and rescue services are governed.
Roger Hirst, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, working with local partners has developed this case and is seeking your views.
Please watch the film, read the leaflet and go to page 28 of the full local case to find details of the three options.
A summary of questionnaire responses will be submitted to the Home Office in June and the Home Secretary will make the final decision, which will be published here.
The planning of the consultation and the information provided have passed industry good practice standards, quality assured by the Consultation Institute.
